Along with the rest of the world, I’ve been thinking about the upcoming American presidential election. As I listened to a truly discouraging radio report about Trump’s billion dollar campaign and his mastery of micro-targeting, I realized two things.
The first is that, in the face of 24/7/365 incessant yammering attacks, the best thing for the Dems to do is to go dark.
It worked for Ivana and Marla.
If every single one of the Democratic candidates agreed to end their primary campaign now and allow the voters to make their choice, Trump would spew his micro-darts into a big void. And whoever wins would face Trump with the 100% support of every Democrat in the country. With every Democratic donor dollar starting right now going to the Beat Trump general fund.
The second thing I realized is that micro-targeting sees trees— we need to keep our eyes on the forest.
